Nightwish tomorrow. *flail*

Bullet list, because I can't be bothered.

1: Dave, my stepdad, is going back into the hospital today.  This is after being in ours for a few days and then hurriedly transported to St. Louis for another few days, because he was doing so poorly, last month. I am not pleased.

2: After the stress of last month, Luke and I decided to go to a Cardinals game today. That should be fun, and help get our minds off everything. ...this is, of course, after stopping by to check on Dave before we head to St. Louis.

3: Month and a half until the Nightwish concert! For my birthday present, Luke bought the VIP tickets, so we're going to get to meet everyone!  Marco, Tuomas, Anette... I'm already dreaming about it.

4: As far as gaming goes, still playing SWTOR, don't want to hear "lol it sucks and going F2P." I'm still keeping my sub because I genuinely enjoy it. However, I am trying out Rift (So far not too impressed, but we'll see what happens when I get past the first little area).

5. I still have the cutest cats in the world. Hands down.

For [livejournal.com profile] legendland I did a variety of things (Oh, ADD, how you SUCK) for our Big Bang Alt challenge. My theme was Kahlan's personal journey, and I did a set of wallpapers and two fanmixes.

Here are the famixes.

In my death I dream of you. )

My wallpapers for this challenge can be found HERE

...After being missing for over two years...

I found my cd carrier case thingy. A decade and a half of my legally owned music, FINALLY back in my hands. Sure, I could just download them all (And did download my favorites that I really missed) but having the actual compact disk is so...

I don't even know the word for it, really. I just know that I'm insanely happy.

Ah. My last.fm friends are probably going "THANK GOD!" since I've been listening to my normal female fronted metal again. Lady Gaga has taken a backseat for a few days.

Yesterday was my last official day in the business office...and I'm really, really glad about that. I won't go into any details on a public forum, but taking the night registration job is DEFINITELY better for me. Sure, a lot less hours, but it's doing something I genuinely enjoy.

And with my new free time, I hope to be doing some volunteer work. Either the animal shelter or the library, I think.

...And I'm also going to take a week or two to simply relax.

Within Temptation in Chicago, back in September of 07. I had to drive ten hours to get there, as I live in the middle of nowhere Missouri, but that was the closest they were going to be. So after the insanely long drive, and the long wait in line...and the two ho-hum opening acts...

There she was. The most amazing singer in the entire universe-- I am not exaggerating here, and one of the most beautiful women in the world. The energy put into the show was unlike any I've seen or have seen since, and the look of enjoyment that Sharon den Adel had on her face could not be faked.

Worth the tickets?

Hell yes.

Worth the drive?

Hell yes.

Worth driving and parking in downtown Chicago on a Saturday night?

Hell yes.

I've been to a fair amount of shows in my life, but none even come close to that concert.

So yeah..my weekend was absolutely fascinating. It took us seven hours to make a typically four hour drive up to Kansas City, but it was an insanely fun drive, one that took us on many detours. And caused laughter as we counted five porn shops each within 5-10 miles of each other.

Speaking of pr0n, Live Action Tentacles?

That's all I need to say about that.

Yeah, it wasn't a bad weekend. We had a little adventure Sunday afternoon. We all went to the park and then tornado sirens went off. Luckily there wasn't any damage. And it was more amusing than anything. That's number #3 on my "Justin and I seem to outrun tornados" tag. Then there was the literal wall of rain we ran into. That was fun.

In completely different news, I got an amazon.com email today, saying that Jars of Clay's new album is available for preorder. I went over to JoC's site and listened to one of the tracks...and nearly cried. No, not a bad thing! That one track felt so much more like them than their last two albums, and I was quite happy. So yeah...it ships on September 5th!

The bookstore still hasn't gotten my Public Relations textbook in. I have an assignment due in an hour that I am unable to do because I lack the book. I will be highly irate if I'm punished for it. Seriously, I've been trying to get it for two weeks now, and they still don't have it. Before anyone says "..So go to a different bookstore" let me remind everyone that there is only the one bookstore in my town.

..Back on Jars of Clay, they're going to be in St. Louis on the 25th of October. I might be seeing my sisters birthday present...that would naturally be "oh so terrible" for me to go with her to. ;)
