And this is my last night as Katy Witbrod.
katiroth: (Characters: Damry Hawke: Believe)
Luke brought up an amusing point this morning. We're getting our marriage license on April Fool's Day.

...Yeeeeeeeah.
katiroth: (Second Life: Sai B&W)
The new Within Temptation album is pretty awesome. Hooray for leaks! I'll pick it up when it's officially released, but for right now I'm very much enjoying it.

I think Katana is sick. If she doesn't perk up by Wednesday, we're going to take a trip to the vet.

My nose itches.

Next Thursday I get to get massive work done on my teeth. BLAH. Not cool. :( Scared.

But that's one thing to mark off the list of things to do before the wedding. Now to call my hopeful photographer. That scares me more than anything for some reason.

Hello, Livejournal.

I'm in my new house right now... with a blizzard about to hit. Go me! Luke and I moved in last night, after really only about a week or so to prepare. We still have some things to move from the old place to the new, but all of the big and important stuff is over here now, thank goodness. The biggest thing at the old apartment is cleaning.

Wedding plans? Nyegh. I want it all to just magically fall together. Right NOW. Angry face!

What else? Work, EMT stuff, more work...

I'm exhausted. :(
katiroth: (Default)
so...busy...

Sigh. :(

When you have someone to RP with that you know well enough to godmode with, it's always nice. It's fun to keep it going smoothly, rather than a "Blah blah blah attempts to blah blah blah" and yeah. It can also be fun to say "Screw you, canon!" Shifty-eyes.

I usually hate RPing babies and motherhood and shit like that, but it's too perfect with these two characters )
katiroth: (Misc: Tentacles)
This was not my night for RP... Oh, I had some great scenes, and lots of laughs...

But the number of unintentional sexual puns and typos was just pathetic. However, I laughed a LOT tonight, and that made it all worth it.

Also? My cats are cute.

I started 2010 in a vicodin-induced stupor, and I ended it at work.

Here's to 2011...

I have a feeling it'll be even more interesting.
katiroth: (Lots: Cara: Bloody Smile)
One of my characters might have a *gasp* normal relationship. Is such a thing even possible?

Anyway...at the risk of complaining too much, these next two weeks are going to suck. Badly. Tomorrow (tonight, I guess)...Well, Sunday night, regardless, starts a string of 'em.

Sunday night: 12 hour night
Monday night: 12 hour night
Tuesday night: Class
Thursday night: 12 hour night
Friday night: Christmas-y stuff
Sunday: 12 hour day
Monday: 12 hour night
Tuesday: Class
Wednesday: 12 hour night
Thursday: 12 hour night
Friday: 12 hour night

It'll all look good on payday. I just have to remind myself of that.
katiroth: (Star Wars: Leia: Blaster)
I'm returning to Aion for the ten day reactivation thing. Mostly because I need an MMORPG, and chances are that I'll be tired of it within the ten days that it'll be free. And it'll be fun to play with that character creator again.

Luke's computer completely died on him tonight. Won't turn on, won't even make noise. It was working just fine before we went for a nap, and an hour and a half later, bam. He's not happy. Nor am I.

66% done.

Whenever he's awake, Luke gets my computer. ...And I got a stethoscope today too! A really good one. Clinicals start this week!
katiroth: (Misc Movies: Mulan: Prettiful)
As I go through the notes for my "big" novel, the story idea I have had in my head since I was about thirteen years old and have expounded upon since, I have come to the conclusion that perhaps I'm not meant to be a novelist, but a fantasy world builder. I'm much happier when working on things like how kingdoms are divided, or the ways magic works, and the size and purpose of villages.

...Yes, I do understand that that's not exactly a field that's very...lucrative.

My dream is to make an "open-source" world, where I provide the framework and anyone can expound upon that. Yeah, that wouldn't work for publishing (as I would want anyone to play in Akransolo, not just talented writers), but the idea of creating something like that thrills me. I actually break out into a smile just thinking about it.

Sure, I have characters and plot ideas, but creating the history and drama and simple ways of life is much more rewarding to me right now.

Also? Early Christmas present. Brand new monitor. It's wonderful!
katiroth: (LotS: Darken/Jennsen: Bedroom)
I really need a laptop. zTyping on my nook is a pain in the ass. Takinga break at work right now, and pondering a few story ideas. Fiull weekend coming up and clinicals start soon.
katiroth: (Characters: Damry Hawke: Believe)
What a great weekend.

On Friday, Luke and I left for St. Louis, and managed to spend our entire weekend there in just the downtown area. Between a long walk to Union Station, and the Lumiere Casino, we had a rather full day (not to mention the good mall before we checked into the hotel).

Saturday was even better though. Early morning was spent wandering Laclede's Landing, and then we wandered over to the Arch, not really knowing what else to do. What we found, however, was the satellite rally to the one in Washington. :D

Across from the Arch they set up a huge TV screen with a satellite linkup to DC, and at least a couple thousand people under the Arch. A ton of people had signs ("1-2-3-4, is chanting useful anymore?" ... "If you have to shout, your point might be weak" .... "Bark to keep fear alive!" (On a dog) ... "I'm afraid of crowds!")

Oh yeah. A good time was had by all, even though both Luke and I are sunburned.

Also, Saturday night on Laclede's Landing is pretty awesome too. :D

Whoo! Caught up on [livejournal.com profile] legendland stuff. Off today and tomorrow (Of course, I still have to sleep yet), and Saturday and Sunday are both day shifts-- and I'm gonna be getting 8 hours of overtime this week. Hello, pretty paycheck.

Aced my latest EMT test...granted, it was scene size up, vital signs, and assessment, so nothing too hard, and Tuesday is a pharmacology test(Oh boy! Know the only SIX medicines that EMTs can give!)...

but I'm still absolutely scared to death. When I get my license and get out on the field, I will be helping to save lives. I will be responsible for people. My patients lives in the hands of myself and my partner.

I sometimes wonder what I'm getting myself into.

....Yeeeeeeeah. Considering it's 9:30, I should probably get some sleep.

ALSO. Dexter is made is complete and utter win. So is my new snuggie. ....don't worry, I will never wear it in public.
katiroth: (Fate/Stay Night: Rider: White and Purple)
And sometimes I hate my job.
katiroth: (PGSM: Senshi: Team)
All these I place
By God's almighty help and grace
Between myself and the powers of darkness!
katiroth: (Music: Lady Gaga: Pink)
Ooh man. Tonight starts some really crazy stuff. My work schedule is...interesting, to say the least. It's all gonna look good on payday...but here's a breakdown.

Tonight: 6:45 pm - 6:45 am
Friday: 6:45 pm = 6:45 am
Saturday: Off...but useless... Why?
Sunday: 6:45 AM - 6:45 PM. Turnaround! Of doom! Wait. It gets better...
Monday: 6:45 pm - 6:45 am. Ahahaha!
Tuesday: Class: 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Wednesday: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Thursday: 6:45 pm - 6:45 am
Friday: Off!
Saturday: 6:45 pm = 6:45 am

...Yeah. Week from hell, anyone? Still, I love my job. A lot.

ALSO! If anyone has a used anatomy & physiology book that they would like to sell, please let me know. That's where I'm struggling the most in class.
katiroth: (Music: Sharon den Adel: Stand my Ground)
I finally have the Black Symphony DVD.

And it makes me INSANELY happy. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
